Some students have completed their assignment.  For the rest of you, it is due tomorrow.  Your chemistry unit test is tomorrow.

We worked on the unit assignment.  Continue to study for your test and to complete this assignment.

Today we worked on review questions for Friday's test.  Research for the chemistry project must be completed tonight and brought to class tomorrow.  Continue to study for the test.

Most students completed their experiment to test household products for whether they are acidic, basic, or neutral.
Homework:  complete the lab report for the household products experiment
Don't forget to complete the research on your topic for your assignment by Wednesday.  Also keep working on the review for your test on Friday.

We discussed the relation of the pH scale to acids and bases.  We discussed what happens when you mix acids and bases together.
Homework:
Read p.273-275.  Answer p.275 #3-5
Read p.279-280.  Answer p.281 #1, 2, 7
Plan a procedure for the pH lab (handout)

Don't forget to begin to research your topic for your assignment.  Also begin to do the review for your test next Friday.

We learned how to identify, name and write formulas for acids and bases.  Consult the text p.268-270 for help with this.
Homework:  p.271 #1-6

The chemistry unit test is on Friday, March 11.  Review for the test should include completing the following, a little each night:  p.302 #1-4, 6-17, 19-23, 36-39, 40, 41, 43-45, 47-49, 51-57, 59, 60.

We completed an experiment to study the properties of acids and bases.  The unit assignment was handed out.  Consider what topic you want to sign up for.  Research should be completed by next Wednesday.  You will have class time to make the finished product next week.

We performed the experiment on p.246-247 of the text.  The laboratory report is due on Thursday, March 3, 2011.  The discussion questions are a-h on p.247.  The rubric is on the chemistry unit page of the website as "displacement reactions rubric".
