We made a variety of solutions for use in our experiments.
Homework:  p.325-7 #11, 14, 21, 34;  read p.330-331 and answer p.336 #1, 2

We learned how to use volumetric flasks and to calculate properties of concentrated and dilute solutions.
Text reference is p.319-321.
Homework:  p.321 #25ac, 26ac; complete calculations for assigned solutions

_The text reference for parts per million concentration is p.311-312.  Molar concentration information is on p.313-315.
Homework:  p.312 #15a, 18;  p.316 #19cd, 20de, 22, 23

Read p.302-310 to learn about percent concentration of solutions.
1.  Define concentration.
2.  Write the equation for finding each type of percent concentration in your notes from the green boxes in the text.
3.  State an example of where each type of concentration is used.
4.  Answer p.305-310 #1b, 2, 5c, 7, 10, 11.

There are conditions that allow you to change the solubility of a substance.  You can test a solution to see if it is saturated, unsaturated, or supersaturated.
Homework:  p.301 #2, 4, 6de and back of yesterday's handout

We discussed the importance of water in our lives, and how our water supply has too many demands on it.  Class work included questions from a handout.
Homework:  Complete the lab report from last Thursday to hand in tomorrow.

1.     Read p.284-287 and define solute, solvent, solution, miscible, immiscible, saturated, unsaturated, soluble, insoluble.
2.    Do the “Thought Lab” on p.288.
3.    Answer p.289 #10, 11, 12ac.
Read p.291-294 and write down two main ideas from each page, under the title “Solubility and Particle Attractions”.
Complete this for homework if not finished in class.
Last Thursday's lab report is due tomorrow.

Most students wrote the unit test today.

Lead(II) nitrate reacts with potassium iodide to form a yellow precipitate.  Students are to find the limiting reactant and the percentage yield of the precipitate.  The report is due next Wednesday, Nov.22.  The unit test is Monday.

Review for your unit test by reading your notes and textbook, summarizing important points, completing and checking review questions, and getting help with the questions that have incorrect answers.
